IEEE (institute of electrical and electronics engineers) is an internationally recognized institute with over 360,000 members over 175 countries. India is also one of the countries that has more than 240 student branches all over India. Every branch is put under different chapters like Bombay, Bangalore and others.

As an institute IEEE organizes various activities on global level, India level and at chapter levels also. The problem starts here. It is very difficult to handle the database of the student members, branch counselors, branch chair persons and branch details as the students change every year and sometimes branch counselor also.

In normal scenario when an important announcement is to be made, India council informs all chapter representatives, who pass the announcements to various branches. These announcements may reach branches or may not reach them. Even if the branch receives the detail on time, it may fail to inform students on time due to the academic calendar. And hence the students may stay unaware of the competitions held at chapter, India or international level. The students may also loose opportunities to attend various seminars and conference hosted by well known personalities.

IEEE Shakha Kendra (ISK) is a solution to this problem. This is the place where all branches of India come together and make use of privileges and other benefits.
